Dasehra was celebrated at several places in Yamunanagar district on Saturday marking the triumph of good over evil.

The festivities passed off peacefully as the district police had made elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order during Dasehra festival. Celebrations were held at several places, including Dasehra Ground in Model Town inYamunanagar, Hanuman Gate in Jagadhari, Dasehra Ground in Railway Workshop, Tejli Sports Complex in Jagadhri, Sector 18 in Jagadhri and a number of places in the district. Nasib Singh Saini, a police spokesman said on the direction of Superintendent of Police Ganga Ram Punia elaborate security arrangements were made by the district police to maintain law and order. He said officers of the rank of DSPl were deployed at all Ravana Dahan sites in the district.
