Dates for Karnal Dist Bar Association poll declared, RO, AROs appointed
The voting date for the District Bar Association (DBA) Karnal’s elections was announced on Friday, for which a returning officer (RO) and six assistant returning officers (AROs) have been appointed. Voting will take place on February 28, and the results will be declared the same evening.
Giving details, DBA president Sandeep Choudhary said Rajeev Kumar Gupta was appointed RO for the election, while Rajneesh Batra, Bajinder Pehal, Raj Kumar Gonder, Ashok Kurlan, Narendra Sharma Daha, and Abhay Sahu were appointed ARO.
RO Gupta confirmed that the voting would be conducted on February 28, as per the guidelines of the Punjab and Haryana Bar Council. Dates for filing of nominations and other election-related procedures will be announced soon. Gupta further said the association’s members, who were practicing lawyers, would contest the elections for the post of president, vice-president, general secretary, treasurer, and joint secretary. So far, there are 2,074 voters in the list.
He said the election would be conducted in a peaceful and impartial manner.
