Anju Bhatia, wife of MP Sanjay Bhatia, was the chief guest, while Mayor Renu Bala Gupta was the guest of honour. Principal Sumita Arora welcomed the guests. Students gave a cultural presentation. An exhibition was also organised. Several competition, including dance, painting and others, were also organised. Talent show and super mom show were also held.
Students visit The Tribune office
Yamunanagar: Students of Dyal Singh Public School, Jagadhri, got an opportunity to visit The Tribune office in Chandigarh. Students were taken to the production department and later they got acquainted with the history of The Tribune. Principal Parul Kumar of the school said such educational visits broadens students’ horizon to have a deeper insight into vast publishing houses.
8 selected in placement drive
Hisar: Eight students have been selected during a campus placement drive of HDFC Life conducted by the training and placement cell at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar. Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the selected students.
Vajpayee’s vision lauded
Rohtak: Rich tributes were paid to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India, during an extension lecture programme organised at Maharshi Dayanand University under the aegis of Dr Mangal Sen Chair. Eminent social worker Subhash Ahuja, while speaking as the chief guest, threw light on the visionary leadership of Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said he was a great leader with excellent qualities of head and heart. He highlighted his oratory skills. Chairperson of Haryana Sahitya Academy Dr Puran Mal Gaur highlighted Vajpayee’s literary aspects. Director, Dr Mangal Sen Chair Prof Loveleen, said the former PM was a statesman, a compassionate human being and a popular leader who contributed immensely to nation-building. Advisor of Dr Mangal Sen Chair Som Nath Sharma shared his reminiscences of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s visit to Rohtak in political rallies of Late Dr Mangal Sen. MDU Director UCCE Prof Pramod Bhardwaj expressed the vote of thanks.
A visit to DCR University
Sonepat: Under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme, a team of 50 students of Mahatma Gandhi University at Nalgonda in Telangana will visit DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal (Sonepat). During their five-day stay, students will get familiar with the civilisation and culture of Haryana. According to the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Rajindrakumar Anayath, under the same national integration programme, a team of 50 students of DCRUST, Murthal, will also visit Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda, in Telangana to know about the civilisation, culture, history, living and festivals of Telangana. “Every state has a different culture, but when it comes to the nation, the entire nation is one. Unity in diversity is the hallmark of our culture,” the VC said.
Silver jubilee conference begins Hisar: A three-day silver jubilee international conference (CONIPAS XXV) on the theme “Physical and biological sciences at crossroads: Interdisciplinary explorations and exiting challenges” started at Ch Ranbir Singh auditorium, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, by the Department of Chemistry in collaboration with International Academy of Physical Sciences (IAPS). Prof Vinod Kumar Jain, Vice-Chancellor, Tejpur University, Assam, was the chief guest. VC Prof Tankeshwar Kumar presided over the inaugural function. Prof Jain said interdisciplinary research was the need of the hour. Scholars and scientists of physics, biology, chemistry and other related subjects can solve challenges together.
