DC conducts surprise inspection at Yamunanagar Civil Hospital

Issues 15-day deadline to fix issues at Rs 105-crore facility

Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta conducted a surprise inspection of the Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital in Yamunanagar and directed that the facility be brought to perfect working condition within 15 days, warning negligence would not be tolerated.

Accompanied by officials from the district administration, Gupta also held a meeting with hospital authorities, doctors, and representatives of the construction agency responsible for the hospital building.

“Patients should get all kinds of facilities in Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital, built at a cost of Rs 105 crore,” said Gupta, adding that the aim was to ensure seamless healthcare access for all patients.

The inspection was prompted by several complaints regarding poor conditions at the facility. Taking cognisance of the grievances, Gupta made an unannounced visit to assess the situation first-hand.

He directed the construction agency that built the hospital to rectify all deficiencies within the 15-day deadline, adding that the shortcomings must be addressed without delay.

Officials from the agency were called to the site during the inspection and were instructed to complete all necessary work on a priority basis. Gupta also ordered that before-and-after photographs of the repairs be documented and updated in the official records.

Further, he instructed hospital authorities to ensure that doctors and support staff remain on duty round-the-clock, following a proper roster system, to provide uninterrupted treatment to patients.

The inspection was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja, Civil Surgeon Dr Manjeet Singh, PMO Dr Jitender Singh, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Anoop Goyal, Dr Puneet Kalra, Dr Charu, Executive Engineer (Public Works Department) Puneet Mittal, and Executive Engineer (Electrical Works Department) Naveen Rathi. The DC’s stance is expected to accelerate improvements in services and infrastructure at the district’s healthcare facilities.
