DC Gupta visits Yamunanagar villages, hears residents’ woes

Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta along with officials of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department visited several villages, including Baloli, Yakubpur, Taruwala, Barauli Majra, Khanuwala and Ghoro Pipli of Yamunanagar district.

The DC inspected the culvert near Yakubpur village on the Jagadhri-Paonta Sahib National Highway and directed the officials of the National Highways Authority to repair the culvert so that the smooth movement of traffic was restored.

In Taruwala village, sarpanch Sanjeev Kumar told the DC that the road leading from the village to the crematorium was unpaved and requested him to get the road constructed.

The DC directed the officials concerned to prepare an estimate to construct the road. The people of Barauli Majra village demanded strengthening of the embankments of the seasonal Pathrala river flowing near the village.

The DC directed the officials of the department concerned to take necessary action. When the DC reached Khanuwala village of Bilaspur subdivision, the villagers told him that Som river overflowed every year during rainy season causing damage at Khanuwala, Lopyon, Chintpur and other villages.
