DC holds night halt programme at Mirzapur Kath village

Inspects civil hospital, SDM office, issues directions over illegal transportation of mining material

Ambala Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomer during the night halt programme at Mirzapur Kath village of Naraingarh block, listened to the public grievances and directed the officials to resolve the complaints on priority.

About 50 personal and public complaints related to electricity, sanitation, water, parivar pehachan patra, old-age pension and some other complaints were raised during the event.

Various government departments had put up their stalls to disseminate information regarding the welfare policies being run by the government.

Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Brahmjit Singh, SDM Shashwat Sangwan, Chief Executive Officer Zila Parishad Gagandeep Singh, RTA Sushil Kumar and officials from several other departments were present during the programme.

The Deputy Commissioner listened to the grievances and issued directions to the officials to resolve the complaints and also directed the departments to ensure that people got the benefits of the government schemes.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the SDM office, Naraingarh Tehsil, Sub-treasury, Police Station and Civil Hospital in Naraingarh.

He inquired about the functioning at the SDM office, E-disha kendra, and also interacted with the people there to take feedback. At the Tehsil, the DC checked the record room and issued directions to the officials.

The Deputy Commissioner told the officials to ensure that the people who had reached the government offices didn’t face any inconvenience and their work was done in a smooth manner. The real beneficiaries should get the benefits of the government schemes.

DC Ajay Singh also inspected the under-construction building of Civil Hospital and inquired about the ongoing work. He directed the officials of PWD (B&R) to ensure that the work was done within the stipulated time-frame and as per the prescribed norms. The DC interacted with the patients as well at the hospital. The hospital building was upgraded at a cost of Rs 22.15 crore.

Meanwhile, the DC also held a meeting regarding illegal transportation of mining material in the Naraingarh area and directed the officials to take strict action on those involved in illegal mining and transportation.

Ajay Singh Tomer said, “Illegal mining will not be tolerated at any cost and appropriate action will be taken against the people involved in illegal mining. The officials have been directed to keep a close watch on illegal activities and present detailed reports every month. The police and mining department should work with better coordination and install check points to ensure better monitoring.”

The Mining Department officials during the meeting apprised the Deputy Commissioner that from April 2024 to March 26 this year, 233 vehicles were impounded and a fine of Rs 3.15 crore was recovered. As many as 139 FIRs were also lodged during this period regarding illegal transportation.
