After implementation of no use of mobile phones and wearing formal dress during working hours, the Deputy Commissioner Karnal Uttam Singh made the attendance of the employees and officials through biometric in all departments mandatory. The DC said the Haryana Government had already issued guidelines to strengthen transparency and punctuality in government functioning. All employees must register themselves through the District Informatics Officer (DIO) for biometric attendance, while institutions lacking the machines must arrange for their installation at the earliest. For monitoring the process, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sonu Bhatt has been appointed as the nodal officer.

“Strict action would be taken against any laxity,” the DC warned. He instructed that biometric systems be installed not only at district-level offices but also at block and sub-divisional offices. Directions were also issued to the District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) to ensure biometric machines were set up at the gram panchayat level so that patwaris and gram secretaries could mark attendance from a designated location.

The DC further reminded the officers that it was their primary duty to ensure government welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary. He asked the officials to pay special attention to effective implementation and monitoring of schemes so that the benefits were delivered on time and without difficulty. “The aim is to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of government welfare initiatives,” he added.

Earlier, he also held a meeting to review the cleanliness drive under the “Haryana Shehr Swachhta Abhiyan – 2025. The campaign was started on August 24 and would continue till November 25 under the theme “Har Mohalla, Har Gali, Har Makaan – Swachh Haryana ki Pehchaan.

Singh directed all departments to ensure strict implementation of cleanliness measures under the campaign, which was being monitored by CM Nayab Singh Saini. He instructed officials to maintain proper sanitation in their offices and dispose of old and unused materials through auction. Offices fulfilling the required standards would be declared “Zero Waste Offices,” he said.
