While encouraging these children, the Deputy Commissioner said along with lighting lamps on Diwali, every student should try to light the lamp of knowledge, hard work, love and goodwill in his mind. The happiness of this festival should be shared with friends, family members and teachers, only then the meaning of a festival such as Diwali will be meaningful.

The Deputy Commissioner distributed sweets and student-related items to all students.

District Child Welfare Officer Vishwas Malik said about 30 children of a slum colony were regularly receiving education at Bal Bhavan. These students are also being trained in sports and cultural activities. Apart from this, 70 students from slum colony come to Bal Bhavan in the evening for sports and cultural activities.
