Kurukshetra DC listens to public grievances during night halt programme at Umri village

DC has sought list of houses without toilets so that toilets can be constructed

In a relief for the people living in Kutcha houses in Umri village, Deputy Commissioner Kurukshetra Neha Singh has directed the District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) to get a list prepared of all such houses so that the beneficiaries could get pucca houses.

The DC issued directions during the first night halt by the district administration at Umri village of Pipli block late Thursday evening. The DC has also sought a list of houses without toilets so that the toilets could be constructed.

DC Neha Singh along with Superintendent of Police Varun Singla, SDM Kapil Sharma and several other officials were present during the night halt and listened to the public grievances.

During the night halt, three complaints related to district election office, one each related to ITI Panchayat Department and Social Welfare Department, five each of PM Surya Ghar scheme and horticulture department, four related to Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, 28 related to District Food and Civil Supplies office, 22 complaints of Health Department, 38 of Animal Husbandry Department, and 30 related to Citizen Resource Information Department were resolved.

The residents also raised issues related to boundary wall of cemetery, sewerage system, sanitation, marriage certificate, monetary fraud by a private firm, marriage hall, repair of chaupals, bypass, LPG connections, pension and appointment of coaches at the sports stadium.

Neha Singh said all complaints and demands would be dealt seriously by the district administration and efforts would be made to resolve the long-pending issues at the earliest. Following the orders of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the administrative officers will go from village to village and solve all problems on the spot in the night halt programmes.

The DC and the SP also inspected the Anganwadi centre of the village and took complete details of the Anganwadi and got to know the problems there along with its dilapidated condition. The DC said the anganwadi would be renovated.

The DC also directed the officials of the Public Health and Engineering Department to prepare a proposal for the sewerage system in the village, and also issued the Panchayat Department and the Transport Department to construct a bus queue shelter at the bus stop of the village on the national highway.

The Irrigation Department and the Panchayat Department officials were also directed to develop the village pond as Amrit pond by taking up the project with the Pond Authority. The officials of the Road Transport Authority were directed to take adequate measures to reduce accidents and construct speed breakers near the schools.

After some officials were found absent from the night halt programme, the DC issued directions to issue a show-cause notice to the absent officials.

Unhappy with the poor sanitation condition at the entry point of the village, the DC issued directions to impose fine on the people throwing garbage in open.

Meanwhile, SP Varun Singla called upon the residents to help the Police Department in making Umri a drug-free village.
