DC orders action against erring IO

Taking stern note of delays and lapses in police action, Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Preeti has directed officials to register FIRs in three separate cases, including fraud in sending a girl abroad, an assault incident and misappropriation of wages by a finance company.

She issued the directions while chairing the District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting at the Mini Secretariat today. Out of 15 complaints presented, 10 were resolved on the spot, while the rest were kept pending for further action.

The DC pulled up officials for inaction in an assault case despite availability of CCTV footage. She instructed the DSP to register an FIR immediately and also ordered action against the Investigating Officer (IO) concerned for failing to act in time.
