To ensure fair and peaceful conduct of the Assembly elections, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner(DC) Mahavir Kaushik along with Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia inspected critical polling stations at many villages in the district today.

The Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police visited Bapodra, Dang, Jhawari, Baganwala, Saral, Dhani Saral, Pinjokhara, Sandwa, Kairu and Lohani villages today. During the visit, they issued instructions to the officials concerned to make necessary arrangements in terms of basic facilities and security arrangements at the polling stations.

The DC gave necessary instructions to the officials concerned to complete the election -related work and process within the stipulated time. He asked the officials at the election duty to ensure arrangements for electricity, water, toilets and ramps for the disabled at the polling booths as per the ECI directions. “The voter should not face any problem in casting his vote. All preparations should be completed by the officials concerned in time so that the election can be conducted in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner. No negligence of any kind will be tolerated in the process,” he said and directed the booth-level officers (BLOs) to ensure that the voter slip reached the voter in time.

Students told to motivate family members to vote

-The DC visited Government Senior Secondary School and urged students to motivate their family members to participate in voting enthusiastically so that the voting percentage could go up as compared to the previous elections.

SP Narendra Bijarnia urged the villagers to cooperate with the administration in conducting polling peacefully. He said the villagers should peacefully vote on October 5 without any fear. The Police Department was committed to ensure peaceful voting at the booths, he added.
