DC, SP listen to public grievances at Yamunanagar village
Deputy Commissioner Capt Manoj Kumar and Superintendent of Police Rajiv Deswal along with other officers of the district administration stayed overnight at Panchayat Bhawan in Kathgarh village of Bilaspur sub-division in the district on Wednesday.
The DC and SP listened to grievances of the people and got them resolved.
The DC gave instructions to build toilets and carry out other development works on the way to Mata Mantra Devi shrine.
Rishi Pal of Rampur Genda village, a part of the Kathgarh gram panchayat, demanded the construction of a firni in the village.
People of the Kathgarh village said that Shri Adi Badri was a hilly area, where there was a lot of movement of mischievous elements.
They demanded that there should be a control on the activities of such mischievous elements.
Villagers Sultan Singh and Ram Karan said that the bus service should be started from Ranjitpur.
They said that more than 20 girl students from the village go to Bilaspur and Yamunanagar daily for education, so bus facilities should be provided for them.
The DC told roadways officials to take action in this regard.
He also resolved several grievances like cases of widow pension, old age pension and disability pension.
On the demand of sending staff to the Primary Health Centre in Ranjitpur, the DC assured that the Health Department and higher officials would be talked to resolve this problem.
Instructions were also given to the concerned department to provide teachers in the school.
Apart from these, Kusum Devi sought the construction of a pakka house, Surendra Kumar sought installation of a drinking water tap and Rajima Nisar demanded correction of income in the family identity card.
The people of the village demanded that land erosion caused by the Som river near the Ramgarh Sawai forest should be stopped.
The DC directed the officials concerned to solve the problem of the people.
On the demand to stop drug abuse, Superintendent of Police Rajiv Deswal said that information about drug smugglers should be given to the police. He said that the name of the informer would be kept secret and the police would take action against those selling drugs.
Motivating people of the village, he said that the prominent people of the village should run a campaign to make their villages free of drugs.
