Holding a meeting with officials of the municipal corporation and the Animal Husbandry Department at the district secretariat here, he said stray cattle should be caught and moved to gaushalas. He added that there were five gaushalas in the district, and Rs 10 was being given for fodder for a calf, Rs 20 for a cow, and Rs 25 for a bull to gaushalas.

He added that information regarding stray cattle could be given to the authorities of the Animal Husbandry Department or to the municipal corporation on 70824-10524, a toll-free mobile phone number.

He appealed to residents to take care of their animals and not abandon them on the streets, as these could harm people.
