The transfer of Fatehabad DC has triggered opposition from local sarpanches, who have appealed to CM Nayab Singh Saini to stop the move. Sarpanches from eight villages in the district have written a letter to the CM, stating that the DC had been actively involved in handling the recent flood and waterlogging crisis. They said she had not only managed the situation administratively, but also had been present on the ground, distributing relief material and supporting residents.

Transferring her at such a critical time could harm the district's relief efforts, they said. The letter stressed that several villages were still submerged, roads were blocked, and many residents remained in distress, making her continued presence essential.

She has been posted as Director, Human Resources Department.

The issue has taken a political turn as many believe that the DC's transfer was initiated following a complaint by Fatehabad Congress MLA Balwan Singh Daulatpuria, who had recently blamed her for negligence after a breach in the Hisar Multipurpose Channel drain led to flooding in Bhattu block’s Ramsara village. He had also posted a message on social media criticising the DC and tagging the Chief Minister’s Office, suggesting that officials in Fatehabad were not held accountable for recurring flood damage.

Daulatpuria defended his stand, saying that the transfer was justified and accused “conspirators” of trying to reverse it.

The letter in support of the DC has been signed by the sarpanches of Noor Ki Ahli, Ajit Nagar, Khumbar, Khairpur, Malwala, Chankothi, Alawalwas, and Dhani Dhaka villages.
