Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Soni visited the several villages facing the problem of waterlogging due to rain in Narnaund subdivision of the district today.

The Deputy Commissioner has directed the Irrigation and Water Resources Department’s Superintending Engineer, Vimal Kumar, Executive Engineer Sandeep Mathur and Neeraj Bhardwaj to take immediate steps to drain out the standing water by installing additional pumping sets in the affected villages.

The DC visited Moth Rangdan, Moth Karnail, Budana, Kheri Jalab and Rakhi Shahpur. During the inspection, she also took stock of the drains and instructed officials to inspect the syphons and pipes of the drains so that the water could be drained out smoothly.

Narnaund Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Vikas Yadav briefed the DC about the prevailing situation of waterlogging in various villages of the Narnaund area. The DC interacted with the villagers present on the spot during the inspection. The villagers complained about heavy flooding of the fields and even residential areas due to rain and expressed fear that more rains could deteriorate the condition.
