About 2,000 purchase centres are being set up in the state for procurement of wheat.

He shared that colour coded passes would be issued to the staff, labourers and arhtiyas visiting the centres.

Apart from this, two Saksham Yuvas would be deployed at each centre and availability of masks and hand sanitiser was mandatory at every procurement centre. He said directions were issued to engage self-help groups for locally preparing cloth masks. He added that directions were issued to ensure availability of moisture metres and tarpaulins in each purchase centre.

The spokesperson said directions were issued by the Director-General of Police to ensure smooth functioning at entry and exit points. He added that the farmers would be issued unique IDs and a separate contact list would be given to each panchayat so that the farmers would know when and where to go and rush could be avoided at the centres.

The spokesperson said the administration chalked out a two-month store plan and harvesting equipment was provided to farmers. Sanitisation of the harvesters and workers was closely monitored.
