Chandigarh, July 7
The Haryana Right to Service Commission has recommended to the state government that 53 services being provided by the Haryana Shehari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) should be brought under the purview of essential services.
Besides this, the commission has also recommended that time limit prescribed for various services should be rationalised.
Chief Commissioner of the Commission TC Gupta said this decision was taken at the 36th meeting held here on Monday.
Gupta said there was also a need to rationalise the time limit notified for services as this time frame dates back to the era when services were provided manually. But now that services are being provided online, the time frame should also be made practical.
Giving the example of acceptance of building plan, Gupta said time limit of 30 days had been notified for approval of the building plan but in the case of residential buildings, time limit of only three days was shown on the HSVP website.
He said the number of services being provided under the Act would be increased from 551 to 1,000 by the end of this year.
