Decomposed body of woman found in fields near Karnal village
A semi-naked, decomposed body of a young woman was found in the bushes of agricultural fields along National Highway-44 near Uncha Samana village on Sunday afternoon. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. However, the words ‘Neetu Kumari’ along with two hearts were tattooed on her left arm, which police say could provide vital clues.
As per information, labourers spraying crops spotted the body and immediately informed the landowners, Ramesh and Ravinder — both brothers live in Model Town, Karnal. They alerted the police. Soon after, multiple police teams along with forensic experts reached the spot, cordoned off the area, and began collecting evidence.
Preliminary investigations suggest the woman died several days ago, but the exact cause and time of death will be determined only after the post-mortem examination. “The expected age of the woman is about 35 years. Efforts are underway to establish her identity and verify the facts regarding her death,” said Garuav Punia, SHO Madhuban.
He said that information has been shared with the nearby police stations and villages. He added that the case is being handled with utmost seriousness.
