Deepender Hooda: Poll advanced as BJP knew promises were hollow

Congress MP Deepender Hooda has said the Central government got the elections announced early in Haryana to prevent its BJP government’s false announcements from getting exposed. He said the BJP sacrificed its own announcements to the code of conduct.

“The BJP government made many big announcements one after the other before the elections were declared. However, none of these announcements was fulfilled because the BJP does not want to get them fulfilled,” said Deepender.

He said for the past 10 years, the LPG cylinder cost Rs 1,100, but the last month’s announcement of giving the cylinder for Rs 500 turned out to be false. He took out a padyatra in Radaur Assembly constituency of Yamunanagar district under the ‘Haryana Mange Hisaab’ campaign. He said the demand for a four-lane road from Kurukshetra to Yamunanagar via Ladwa-Radaur had been made for 10 years, but the BJP government did not do anything.

“Now, the elections have been announced. When the Congress government is formed, Kurukshetra-Yamunanagar road will be made four lane and bypasses will be built in Ladwa and Radaur,” said Deepender.

He said the BJP had played a cruel joke with every class and section. “There is no one left, be it farmers, labourers, women, employees, sarpanch and sportspersons, on whom the BJP government has not showered lathis. Now the people of Haryana have decided that ‘October Chaar, BJP Baahar,” he quipped.

Deepender promised farmers the guarantee of MSP and the highest prices for crops, timely recruitment of Haryanvis on two lakh vacant government posts, free plot of 100 yards and two-room house at Rs 3.5 lakh to poor families, raising backward class creamy layer income limit to Rs 10 lakh, safai karamchari, gramin chowkidar, MNREGA mate would be made permanent.

In Ambala Cantonment, Deepender said the BJP government was putting out advertisements of ‘Non-Stop Haryana’ but the truth is that the BJP had ruined the state and it had failed to bring any big project in Haryana over the past 10 years. “Cities get waterlogged after rains and roads are in poor condition. The BJP has made Haryana number-1 in unemployment, inflation, drugs, snatching the rights of the poor and torturing farmers.”
