Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday inaugurated the main events of the International Gita Mahotsav at Brahma Sarovar.

Singh also inaugurated the Haryana Pavilion at Brahma Sarovar and later the 10th International Gita Conference-2025.

He said the Haryana Pavilion is a mirror of Haryanvi culture, showcasing the state’s rich folk art and culture to everyone. Through the Haryana Pavilion, Kurukshetra University is making a commendable contribution in the upliftment and preservation of Haryanvi culture.

While addressing a gathering at Kurukshetra University at the inaugural ceremony of the conference, he said, “Kurukshetra is the land of Gita; and the message of Gita is for all and will be remembered for ages. The sermon gives strength and shows the path in life. It is a universal life guide.”

Talking about the Pahalgam attack, he said that taking inspiration from Gita, India gave a befitting reply to terrorism.

The Defence Minister was accompanied by Haryana Cabinet Ministers Anil Vij, Krishan Bedi, Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal and several renowned scholars and religious gurus.
