Delegation of state Chamber of Commerce & Industry meets CM

A delegation of Haryana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) led by state president Vinod Khandelwal met Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at his residence in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

The delegation also included state general secretary of the HCCI Raj Chawla, treasurer along with chapter chairmen/their representatives from all districts.

At the meeting, Yamunanagar Chapter president Rajesh Sondhi presented major issues related to Yamunanagar and Jagadhri and timber-based industries to the Chief Minister.

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana and Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar were also present at the meeting.

Rajesh Sondhi said a policy should be made to promote agroforestry and BIS standards should be reviewed again to provide relief to farmers and timber industry.

He said the industrial units, which were operating for more than 20 years, should be regularised by bringing a one-time scheme with proper inspection.

He further said unnecessary market committee fees levied on timber-based industries should be completely abolished.

He added that the licence renewal period should be made five years in all departments and unnecessary NOC process should be abolished.

He said that groundwater use norms should be relaxed for old industries and the renewal process should be simplified.

He added that Jagadhri should be declared a heritage city with an aim to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the city and promote tourism.

He said a grand riverfront should be developed on the banks of Yamuna from the  religious and tourism point of view.

He demanded that Yamunanagar should be connected to places like Radaur, Paonta Sahib and Saharanpur with better road and transport facilities.

He also demanded that Yamunanagar Master Plan 2041 should be given priority, planning of city sectors and infrastructure development should be expedited under the master plan.

Rajesh Sondhi said during this meeting, the state body raised major state-level issues, while each chapter submitted memorandums related to their local issues and requirements.
