Dr Shaheen Shahid, a former doctor at Al Falah University and an accused in Faridabad’s white-collar terror module linked to the Delhi blast, has reportedly revealed that her mission was to create a module to spread terror in the country. She also planned to recruit women for this purpose, as they were easier to manipulate.

Investigating agency and police sources said she revealed this while being taken to the campus last late evening by the NIA. Investigation also revealed that Dr Muzammil and Dr Shaheen had married at Khori Jamalpur village, where Muzammil had rented the house of Jumma Khan, a former sarpanch of the village, for the wedding. Around 10-12 people, including Dr Umar, were present at the nikah.

The NIA team brought her to Faridabad on Thursday, where she was taken to the university for identification. Earlier, the agency had brought Muzammil for identification.

Police sources said the team escorted her to the hostel building where she lived and gathered information, including what she did there all day, who visited her, and who she regularly interacted with.

The NIA also took her to the medical ward, classroom, and her doctor's cabin to identify her activities and contacts. A senior police officer said the agency had prepared a list of people she interacted with, and might include them in further investigation.

She was also taken to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Bhupinder Kaur Anand, where both of them were identified face to face.

According to sources, the team also took her to a chemical shop located at Nehru Ground, where Muzammil purchased chemicals to prepare explosives.

“The NIA team brought Shaheen to Faridabad around 5 pm on Thursday. After about four hours of investigation, questioning, and identification of several locations, she was taken back to Delhi at around 9 pm. The ongoing investigation has revealed that she was active in terrorist activities while staying at the university and was creating a network,” a senior police officer said on anonymity.
