Delhi man booked for giving fake air tickets
Kurukshetra, February 12
The Kurukshetra police have booked a person for providing fake air tickets to a local resident and duping him of Rs 4.54 lakh.
The suspect has been identified as Raja Kumar of Delhi.
In his complaint to the police, Saminder Singh, a resident of Ladwa, said in May last year, he received a call and the caller identified himself as Raja Kumar, a visa consultant.
The complainant said Raja informed him that he sends people abroad and arranges tickets at cheaper rates.
“In August last year, my brother asked me to arrange two tickets from Vietnam to Al Salvador, so I inquired about the tickets. Raja demanded Rs 5 lakh for two tickets,” he added.
Saminder said, “While Rs 1 lakh was given in cash, Rs 3 lakh was transferred to the bank account in advance. The remaining amount was to be given after boarding. However, later Raja sent a message that the tickets had been put on hold and we have to wait for a few days. Then he sought Rs 20,000 and after paying it, he sent two tickets. But while boarding, it was found that the tickets were fake.”
The complainant said when he demanded his money back, the consultant told him that he would adjust the amount against the payment of other tickets.
Later during the cricket World Cup matches, the suspect was asked to arrange five air tickets for Ahmedabad, the price of which was quoted Rs 68,000, he added
“He told me to pay Rs 34,000 and said the remaining amount of Rs 34,000 will be adjusted by him. But, he again provided us fake tickets,” said the complainant.
A case under Sections 406 and 420 of the IPC has been registered at the Ladwa police station.
