A team of Delhi Police, which went to Nangla Jamalgarh village in Nuh district to nab a vehicle thief named Tausif, was attacked by the villagers on Friday.
As soon as the police caught the vehicle thief and started taking him away, the villagers, including some women, attacked the police team and freed the suspect. A fierce clash took place between the police and the villagers during which, the side glass of a Delhi Police vehicle was broken.
During the clash, some people made a video on the spot, which soon went viral on social media. The local police said that they are not aware about the incident and it is being reported that the Delhi Police reached the village without informing the local police.
A senior police officer of Nuh police said that the team of Delhi Police returned after the family members of the suspect assured them that they would produce him before the Delhi Police soon.
The viral video clearly shows Delhi Police personnel grabbing women and forcing them into a vehicle. Villagers alleged that no policewomen were present during this action.
It is being said that when the video of this fight went viral on social media, it came to light that a compromise was reached between the police personnel and the villagers.
“We got to know that a team of Delhi Police conducted a raid in Nangla Jamalgarh today but they did not officially inform the local police. No complaint has been received from the Delhi Police or the villagers so far,” said inspector Omvir Singh, SHO of Punhana police station.
