Demolition drive in Yamunanagar colonies
Were developed on 32 acres of land; notices issued to defaulters under Controlled Area Act
A team of the Town and Country Planning Department carried out a demolition drive in two unauthorised colonies at Vyaspur of Yamunanagar district.
District Town Planner Rajesh Kumar said the team carried out a demolition drive in two unauthorised colonies spread on 32 acres of land in Vyaspur of the district.
He said they demolished unpaved roads in the unauthorised colonies.
He said notices were issued to the defaulters under Controlled Area Act, 1963, but they did not comply with the instructions.
He said that the land owners did not take the necessary permissions before setting up illegal colonies.
He appealed to the people not to invest their money in unauthorised colonies and to contact the DTP office before buying a plot.
“Before carrying out any construction in the controlled area, one can apply on the portal of the Town and Country Planning Department to obtain permission for land use change and if required, the District Town Planner’s office can be contacted for more information,” said Kumar.
