Two unauthorised colonies were being developed on a six-acre land and a three-acre land. The land owners and property dealers failed to get the required permissions from the department concerned before starting the construction work.

Kurukshetra District Town Planner (DTP) Vikram Kumar said, “After the issue of developing unauthorised colonies came to light, notices were served to the land owners and property dealers. They were asked to obtain permission, but they did not stop the construction work and did not obtain permission from the department. Following the directions of Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner, Naib Tehsildar Sanjiv Kumar was appointed as duty magistrate and a demolition drive was carried out. During the drive, kutcha roads, and under-construction portions of the buildings were dismantled.”

The DTP said, “People should not buy plots or carry out any construction after being lured by property dealers in the name of cheap plots. They should obtain all information about property from the Town and Country Planning Department. The Tehsildars and the Naib Tehsildars should also follow the directions of the government before registering any property. If any person buys any plot in an unauthorised colony, action would be taken against the buyer as well.”
