He said that an unauthorised colony was being developed in the revenue estate of Mandi-Kait (Akalgarh) village falling under Jagadhari tehsil.

“Our team demolished kachcha/mud roads, shops and several foundations in this unauthorised colony,” said DTP Rajesh Kumar.

He said that notices were issued to the violators as per rules under Control Area Act Number-12, Sub-Section 2 of 1963 and Urban Area Act 8 of 1975.

He said that the violators did not comply with the departmental orders.

“The demolition action was taken as the land owners/promoters did not take necessary permission before carving out this illegal colony and doing construction work,” said DTP Rajesh Kumar.

He has appealed to the people of the district to not invest their money in such unauthorised colonies and to contact the DTP office before buying a plot in such colonies.

“Before carrying out any construction in the controlled area, one can apply on the portal of the Town and Country Planning Department to obtain permission for land use change and if required, the District Town Planner's office can be contacted for more information on any working day,” said DTP Rajesh Kumar.
