The teams of the District Town Planner, Yamunanagar, have carried out a demolition drive in four unauthorised colonies at Panjeton, Buria, Mandi and Hundewala villages in the past 15 days.
Besides, the teams also demolished unauthorised structures falling in the 30-metre restricted area of the Ambala-Saharanpur National Highway (NH-344) during this period.
Amit Madholia, District Town Planner, Yamunanagar, said that a demolition drive was carried out in a newly erected unauthorised colony in the revenue estate of Panjeton village on August 27.
“The total area of the colony was about two acres wherein an under-construction house, 10 damp-proof courses (DPCs) and six boundary walls with kuccha roads were demolished,” he said.
He added that on August 26, they carried out a demolition drive in an unauthorised colony in Buria village. “Our team razed 10 DPCs and four boundary walls in an unauthorised colony spread over two acres,” he said.
On August 21 also, unauthorised structures in a colony in Mandi village were demolished. Around 30 DPCs, 10 boundary walls, a car garage and a shed were demolished in an unauthorised colony in Hundewala village on August 18. Unauthorised structures falling in the 30-metre restricted area of the Ambala-Saharanpur national highway were demolished on August 20. “Two dhabas, two tyre puncture shops and four other structures falling in the revenue estate of Kalanaur village along the NH-344 were demolished on August 20,” he said.
