Yamunanagar, July 18
A demolition drive was carried out by a team of the Town and Country Planning Department in an unauthorised colony at Sadhaura town in the district today. The team removed several boundary walls, damp-proof courses (DPCs) and network of kutcha roads.
Ashok Garg, District Town Planner (DTP), said Kuldeep Singh, naib-tehsildar of Sadhaura, was appointed Duty Magistrate and the police force was provided by Anil Kumar, SHO of Sadhaura police station. The illegal residential and commercial colony was spread in about an acre.
“Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar, the action was taken in accordance with the provisions of the Haryana Urban Area Development and Regulation Act, 1975,” said the DTP, adding that demolition was being taken up continuously in illegal colonies in the district.
He appealed to people not to invest their money in such colonies, and to contact the DTP’s office before buying a plot.
