Chandigarh, February 28
Terming the maiden Budget of CM Manohar Lal Khattar in the capacity of the state’s Finance Minister as “development-oriented”, BJP leaders said that it would take the state forward on many fronts.
Senior BJP leader and former Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu thanked Khattar for presenting an “excellent” Budget. He expressed gratitude to the CM for paying special attention to the development of farmers, villagers and Rakhigarhi of Narnaund and for the efforts made for the Hansi-Jind railway line.
Former Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar said that the CM had taken “historic” steps for the overall development of the agricultural sector. Along with the promises made by the government in the manifesto, the idea of giving momentum to the ongoing schemes of the previous government is also visible. “It can be said that the income of the farmer will double in the coming times. The Budget is going to change not only the picture of agriculture but also the fate of the farmer,” he claimed.
“Interest-free loans to farmers adopting crop diversification; 10 per cent seats willbe reserved for women farmers in all vegetable marketsof Haryana; to promote women empowerment, special women’s cell will be established in the Farmers Welfare Authority; and agricultural mechanisation will be encouraged,” he said while listing out other farmer-oriented provisions in the Budget. — TNS
