In a move aimed at promoting mental peace and faster recovery among patients, the authorities at the Pt BD Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) here have chalked out a plan to instal a centralised sound system in all hospital wards for playing devotional music every morning from 5 am to 7 am.
Officials believe that devotional music can contribute to early recovery by creating a calm and positive atmosphere across the hospital wards having a total over 2,100 beds. “The initiative is designed to transfer good messages and improve patient morale during their stay,” said Dr Kundan Mittal, medical superintendent, PGIMS.
