Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda on Monday launched the ‘Faculty Exposure Visit’ programme, aimed at upgrading the teaching quality and practical skills of faculty members in government engineering and polytechnic institutions. Under this initiative, teachers will visit higher institutions like IIT Delhi to gain exposure to advanced teaching methodologies and practical training.

Flagging off a bus carrying 65 faculty members specialising in electronics, electrical and instrumentation, the minister emphasised that such training will enhance their expertise, ultimately benefiting students by boosting their employability and skill development. The event took place at Maharishi Kashyap Polytechnic in Jatal village, Panipat.

Addressing the gathering in the auditorium, Minister Mahipal Dhanda reiterated the government's commitment to improving education standards.

“The quality of teaching and practical knowledge will improve with training at higher institutes, leading to better job opportunities for students,” he said.

The minister announced that collaboration with IIT Delhi will help introduce modern courses and cyber security intelligence modules in polytechnic institutes across the state, which is the need of the hour.

The Faculty Exposure Visit is expected to establish a strong academic relationship between IIT Delhi and Haryana’s polytechnic institutes, leading to skill enhancement and research-driven learning.

“Students in Haryana must work hard to stand on their own feet. We need to focus on innovation in education and accelerate our efforts for better learning outcomes,” Dhanda stressed.

He also linked the initiative to India’s long-term growth and said, “India is challenging the world with its progress. By 2047, when we celebrate 100 years of independence, we must be a fully developed nation. This initiative is a step toward that goal.”

Encouraging faculty members to maximise their learning, Dhanda urged them to invent new technologies and share their experiences with others. He also highlighted the New Education Policy (NEP) as a game-changer for academic transformation.

Prabhjot Singh, Director General, Technical Education Department, provided insights into emerging technologies and research opportunities, saying, “Faculty members should carefully observe laboratory experiments, faculty-student interactions and advanced learning techniques at IIT Delhi. Doors are also open for pursuing PhDs in this field.”

The event was attended by KK Kataria (Director, Technical Education), Anil Sehrawat (Additional Director), Renu Arya (Deputy Director), Rajiv Narwal (Principal, Polytechnic) and faculty members from various polytechnics.

Later in the day, Dhanda attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme at Government Senior Secondary School in Sewah village, where he encouraged students to take exams without stress and embrace learning with confidence.
