Digging work of water reservoir on panchayat land begins in Yamunanagar dist

Deputy Chairman of Saraswati Heritage Development Board, Dhuman Singh Kirmach said the work of digging a water reservoir on 350 acres of panchayat land, given by Rampur Hediya, Rampur Kamboyan and Chhalour villages, began on Tuesday.
He said a barrage would also be constructed on Som river and a dam would be built on the Haryana-Himachal border soon in the area.
He further said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was serious about this project.
“Farmers will benefit from the construction of the reservoir and dam. Damages caused by floods in the area can be avoided,” said Kirmach.
Superintending Engineer of Saraswati Heritage Development Board, Arvind Kaushik said effort was being made that water of the district's rivers would not be allowed to go waste.
He said the administration's effort was that all rivers fulfilled the water needs of the people of the district.
He further said the depleting groundwater level would be improved by stopping water that was flowing uselessly.
They added that the project would provide a lot of convenience to the people associated with agriculture.
He said the work of bringing Saraswati river to the ground was now being done at a fast pace.
Mukesh Garg, member of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission said the efforts of RSS veteran Darshan Lal Jain, who began working for the revival of Saraswati river, would soon bear fruit.He said the farmers of all villages were cooperating in the work.
He thanked the Sarpanch of Rampur Hediyaan, Chhalour and Rampur Kamboyan villages for giving Panchayat land to Saraswati Board.
On the occasion Sarpanch Amarjit, Chand Mohan Kataria, Rishipal Juddha, Ramesh, Rajni Bala, Kehar Singh, Patwari Devi Charan Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar and other villagers were present.
