Gurugram, February 20
An animal rights organisation, People for Animals (PFA), on Tuesday appealed to a local court to direct the Gurugram police to register a case against Elvish Yadav, singer Rahul Yadav (alias Fazilpuria) and others for using rare species of snakes in a song video.
PFA official Saurabh Gupta said, “Around 20 snakes were used in the video and more than six of these were of rare species. They had permissions for three snakes. Besides, seven of these snakes were recovered from Mohali. While taking permission to shoot the video, permission was not taken from the Animal Welfare Board and the district administration nor the Wildlife Department was informed.”
The case pertains to a 2023 song, in which rare species of snakes were used.
He also raised questions on the police action taken report The PFA had given a complaint to the Gurugram police to take action in the matter. But the police allegedly did not take any action on the complaint. So they approached the court to register a case against Elvish, Fazilpuria and others.
The hearing of all parties on this matter has been completed and the court is expected to give its verdict soon.
