The government has directed power distribution corporations to issue tubewell connections. As many as 4,221 tubewell connections had been issued by the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) in the first phase in 2020-21. Now in the second phase, tubewell connections will be issued to 16,635 consumers in all its nine circles (Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonepat, Rohtak and Jhajjar).

An official spokesperson said that UHBVN has started the process of issuing tubewell connections to farmers on a priority basis.

All farmers who have deposited consent money (Rs 30,000) in 2019 for issuing tubewell connections in the second phase would be informed soon. — TNS
