District-level inter-PM Shri Schools sports meet organised at Karna Stadium
A district-level inter-PM Shri schools’ sports meet for girls was organised on Wednesday at Karna Stadium, in which 180 students of from all 18 PM Shri Schools of the district participated in various competitions including 100 m, 200 m, 400 m race, 4x100 metre relay race, shot put, long jump, high jump and discus throw. The sports meet was organised as part of the selection process for the state-level sports competition, scheduled to take place on February 10 and 11 in Karnal.
The programme was inaugurated by Jyotsna Mishra, District Project Coordinator (DPC) of Samagra Shiksha. She appreciated the step of the department, saying that such competitions served as a boon for students in government schools, providing them with a platform to showcase their hidden talents.
In the under-19 girls’ category of 200 metre race, Kashish of PM Shri Munak secured first position, while Garima of PM Shri Garhibirbal got second and Shivani of PM Shri Agaund remained at third position. In the 400-metre race, Palak Rani of PM Shri, Badagaon, Anita of PM Shri, Garhibirbal, and Manjeet of PM Shri, Chochra, secured first, second and third position, respectively. In the 4x100 metre relay race, PM Shri, Chochra, won first position, while PM Shri, Gonder, remained at second place and PM Shri, Kutail, got third position. In long jump, Neetu of PM Shri, Kohand, Mansi of PM Shri, Garhibirbal, and Anjali of PM Shri, Nissing, secured first, second and third positions.
In high jump, Kafi and Tamanna of PM Shri, Assandh, won first and second prize, respectively, while Akshara of PM Shri, Kutail, won third position. In shot put, Aastha of PM Shri, Nilokheri, won first prize, while Charan of PM Shri, Badagaon, secured second position and Chetna and Chakshu of PM Shri, Chochra, remained at third position. In discus throw, Kashish of PM Shri, Badagaon, won the first prize, while Khushi of PM Shri, Munak, secured second position and Chakshu of PM Shri, Chochra, got third position.
In under-14 girls competition of 100 metres, Mafi of PM Shri, Kutail, won first prize, while Komal of PM Shri, Badagaon, secured second position and Tanisha of PM Shri, Gonder, got third position. Similarly, in the 200-metre race, Ananya of PM Shri, Kohand, Mehak of PM Shri, Nilokheri, and Mansi of PM Shri, Shamli, won first, second and third prizes, respectively.
In the 400-metre race, Palak of PM Shri Kohand, Kanika of PM Shri, Gondar, and Prachi of PM Shri, Badagaon, secured first, second and third positions, respectively.
In the 4x100 metres relay race, PM Shri, Kutail, won the first prize, while PM Shri, Chochra, secured second and PM Shri, Badagaon, remained at third place. In long jump, Sandhya of PM Shri, Nissing, secured first position, while Meera of PM Shri, Kutail, won second and Sneha of PM Shri, Kohand, secured third position. In high jump, Mehak of PM Shri, Kutail, won first and Pallavi of PM Shri, Badagaon, secured second position. In the shot put competition, Sakina of PM Shri, Kohand, secured first position, while Tanya of PM Shri, Badagaon, won second and Priyanka of PM Shri, Kutail, secured third position. In discus throw, Tamanna of PM Shri, Kutail, and Kalpana of PM Shri, Badagaon, won first and second positions, respectively.
