Bhiwani: Two students of Government Model Sanskriti School secured positions during the district-level legal literacy competition organised in Bhiwani under the Haryana Legal Literacy Programme. Simran, a student of Class XII, secured the first place in the PPT competition and Gaurav of Class XII secured the third place in the on-the-spot painting competition. Students from various schools of the district participated in the competition. Principal Savita Ghanghas felicitated the students who performed well at the competition.

Sirsa varsity to hold reappear exams

Sirsa: Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, is providing students a special opportunity to reappear in exams. Vice-Chancellor Ajmer Singh Malik made the decision to benefit students. According to University Controller of Examinations Shailendra Singh reappear exams for both even and odd semesters would be available to students at the university and its affiliated colleges. Interested students can submit their exam forms online with the required fee until August 12. Details regarding the dates of examination and centres would be accessible on the university’s website, he said.

Entrepreneurship awareness event

Karnal: The Career Guidance and Placement Committee of Dyal Singh College, Karnal, in association with MSME- Development and Facilitation Office, Karnal, organised an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on July 29. Principal Ashima Gakhar and Career Guidance and Placement Committee incharge SL Arora welcomed the speakers, including Karnal MSME-DFO Assistant Director Mukesh Verma. Dr Ashima gave an overview of the session’s theme and shed light on the various career paths students could choose from. She said 173 students of the college had secured employment in the 2023-24 academic session. Verma highlighted the various schemes offered by their department related to the education policy. He provided valuable insights into how these schemes could support aspiring entrepreneurs in their educational endeavours. Following this, SK Handuja took the stage to explain different loan-related schemes, available for potential entrepreneurs, while emphasising the importance of financial planning and resource management. Sumit elaborated the various skill development schemes, stressing the importance of acquiring the necessary skills to succeed in the entrepreneurial world. Vikas Anand shared his entrepreneurial journey, offering a first-hand account of the challenges and successes he encountered while establishing and growing his business. Seventy-six students from different streams attended the session.

Pottery workshop at Karnal school

Karnal: A pottery workshop was organised at Aryakulam School, Nilokheri, to nurture creativity and artistic skills among students. The workshop provided hands-on experience to the students in pottery-making techniques and allowed them to explore the art of shaping clay. The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the basics of pottery, encourage artistic expression, and to enhance their understanding of the cultural significance of pottery. The workshop was conducted by Jai Narayan, a professional potter, with 70 years of experience. The students were given the opportunity to create their own clay pieces. Principal Dinesh Kumar said such workshops played a pivotal role in new-age learning.

Orientation at Kaithal college

Karnal: An orientation-cum-induction programme was organised for the students of first semester at RKSD College, Kaithal. The programme’s objective was to introduce students to their teachers, college infrastructure, timetables and the various activity cells. Principal Sanjay Goyal informed the students about the overall functioning of the college. Goyal also talked about discipline and the importance of carrying identity-cards on campus.
