A doctor from Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in Delhi was allegedly assaulted by a man in front of his minor son over a parking dispute at Chakkarpur village.
The doctor sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the district. The accused also reportedly threatened to kill the doctor and his family.
Dr Abhishek Anil Kumar Jha, a native of Andheri West, Mumbai, and currently residing with his family in DLF Phase 3, Gurugram, is a general surgeon at RML Hospital. The incident occurred on Thursday night around 8.30 pm in front of Balaji PG at Chakkarpur village.
Dr Jha had gone to Chakkarpur with his wife, son and mother-in-law to purchase items for a puja. He found a vacant space and parked his car in front of Balaji PG, noting that there was no “no-parking” sign. When he returned, the situation escalated.
“There was an Innova parked behind my car, and a person standing nearby. I politely asked him to move the car, but he started speaking rudely. He pushed me and struck me hard on the eye, causing me to fall to the ground. I couldn’t see from my left eye for about seven minutes. Eventually, I managed to get up, sit in the car with my son and lock the doors. When my wife and mother-in-law arrived, the man threatened us, saying we should leave, or he would kill us. After that, I was rushed to the hospital,” Dr Jha stated in his complaint.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the unidentified accused under Sections 115 (2), 126 (2) and 351 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Sector 29 police station on Friday.
“We are trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage from the surrounding areas,” said Head Constable Suresh Kumar.
