Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta recently said the nation was excited about the consecration of Lord Rama’s idol in Ayodhya and people of Haryana, along with the MLAs, would visit the temple on February 9.

Gupta said, “We are fortunate that we will be able to witness the consecration ceremony. About 4 lakh people sacrificed their lives for this movement and faced torture. People across the country are excited about it, and I believe that we all should celebrate the day.”

About Opposition parties not accepting the invitation, he said, “Vinash kale, vipreet budhhi. Some political parties are trying to politicise the event while it is a religious occasion. I don’t think any person should have any kind of hesitation in attending the event. People who are making statements against the event can’t be true followers of Lord Rama.”
