‘Jalebis’were back on politcal platter in Haryana as the BJP wrested control of the Delhi Assembly on Saturday after a wait of over 27 years.
‘Decade of suffering ends’
The people of Delhi were not getting the benefits of government policies; even the basic amenities were missing. The people of Delhi threw AAP out of power because they suffered over the past 10 years. Nayab Singh Saini, haryana hief minister
Celebrating the party’s victory with supporters with ‘jalebis’ in Kurukshetra, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was not concerned about the people of Delhi and he focussed only on getting all facilities for himself.
“The people of Delhi were not getting the benefits of government policies; even the basic amenities were missing. The AAP government was involved in corruption and the people of Delhi were not getting healthcare facilities, quality education and clean water,” he said.
Targeting Kejriwal over his Yamuna remarks, the CM said, “To hide his failures, Kejriwal even tried to blame Haryana. People of Haryana will never mix poison in water. The people of Delhi threw AAP out of power because they suffered over the past 10 years. People of Delhi have shown faith in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the double engine government will ensure development of Delhi.”
“Haryana was already supplying clean water to Delhi, and now the BJP government will clean the water in Delhi too and ensure that every citizen there gets adequate and clean water,” he added. Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Anil Vij celebrated the party’s victory in Ambala Cantonment and said with AAP’s top leaders facing defeat, the era of freebie politics was coming to an end.
Kejriwal insulted Yamuna, Haryana: Badoli
In Sonepat, state BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli along with his supporters celebrated the landslide victory of the party eating and distributing ‘jalebis’. Thanking the people of Delhi and Haryana, Badoli said the ‘AAP-da’ ended in Delhi today as the people showed trust in the BJP’s policies and made the party secure victory after 27 years. He further said the people of Delhi replied to Kejriwal’s corruption and politics of deceit and expressed confidence in the BJP. The voters accepted the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and closed the shop of Kejriwal’s politics of lies and corruption.
Badoli further said it was not only the victory of Delhi, but also Haryana’s win. He further said former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal not only insulted the sacred Yamuna, but also levelled allegations against Haryana, but the people of Delhi replied to him with their votes.
Khattar thanks voters for ending AAP ‘misrule’
In Karnal, Union Power Minister and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar thanked the people of Delhi for electing the BJP government with thumping majority by ‘ending the misrule of AAP’.
“The people of Delhi had suffered a lot for the last 10 years under the AAP government, and they have now expressed their anger by ending the AAP rule. I can assure the people of Delhi that they will receive every facility from the BJP government,” Khattar said while interacting with mediapersons at the party’s district office Karna Kamal, where he celebrated the party’s victory in Delhi with leaders and workers. Party members distributed ‘jalebi’ and burst crackers to celebrate it.
Targeting AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Khattar said his (Kejriwal) governance was riddled with corruption and dishonesty. “Kejriwal has a habit of making false promises and later apologising. But this time, the people have not fallen for his tricks. ‘Kath ki handi baar-baar nahi chadti’ (a deceitful trick does not work repeatedly),” he said.
He accused of making baseless claims about Haryana polluting the Yamuna. Voters of Delhi have given Kejriwal a strong message by rejecting his party. “It is a powerful message for the entire country,” he asserted.
Khattar also took a dig at the Congress, claiming that the party had lost public trust completely. “People have rejected the Congress. The party has lost its relevance,” he added.
