DTP team razes unauthorised colony in Yamunanagar
A team of the District Town Planner (DTP) carried out a demolition drive in an unauthorised colony, situated at Sabalpur village, falling under Saraswati Nagar block in Yamunanagar district.
The team of the DTP demolished damp proof courses (DPCs) and a network of kutcha roads in the unauthorised colony.
This unauthorised colony was spread over 4.4 acres of land in the said village.
DTP Rajesh Kumar said they were carrying out demolition drives in unauthorised colonies regularly and taking action against the promoters of those unauthorised colonies.
He said their team carried out a demolition drive in an unauthorised colony in Sabalpur village and demolished DPCs and a network of kutcha/mud roads in the said unauthorised colony.
He further said that the police force was provided by the SHO of the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau and Chhappar police station.
He said that notices were issued to the defaulters as per rules under Control Area Act No. 12, Sub-section 2 of 1963 and Urban Area Act 8 of 1975, but the defaulters did not comply with the departmental orders.
“The land owners/ promoters did not take necessary permission before setting up the colony, therefore, a demolition action was taken in the said unauthorised colony,” said DTP Rajesh Kumar.
The DTP has appealed to the people of the district not to invest their money in such unauthorised colonies and contact the DTP office before buying a plot.
“Before carrying out any construction in the controlled area, one can apply on the portal of the Town and Country Planning Department to obtain permission for land use change and if required, the District Town Planner's office can be contacted for more information on any working day,” said Kumar.
