Yamunanagar, August 13
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has attached 145 immovable properties, including agriculture land, commercial land and buildings worth about Rs 122 crore.
As per statement issued by the Gurugram Zonal Office of the ED, these properties allegedly belong to former Yamunanagar INLD MLA Dilbag Singh, Sonepat MLA Surender Panwar, Inderpal Singh, Manoj Wadhwa, Kulwinder Singh, Angad Singh Makkar, Bhupinder Singh and their associates. These properties have been attached in illegal mining case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
These properties are situated in Gurugram, Faridabad Sonepat, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Chandigarh, Panchkula and other districts of Punjab and Haryana.
As per the statement, the ED initiated investigation on the basis of multiple FIRs registered by the Haryana Police under various Sections of the IPC and the Environment Protection Act, 1986, related to illegal mining of sand, boulder and gravel in Yamunanagar district against various lease holding companies. The ED investigation revealed that the total Proceeds of Crime (PoC) generated out of this illegal mining activities in this case is estimated to be more than Rs 300 crore.
