Rohtak: Social worker and academician Dr Surendra Jain delivered a keynote address on “Relevance of the vision and philosophy of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya in the present context of India” during a webinar organised by the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Centre of Excellence for Rural Development and Department of Public Administration of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) here. He said, “Upadhyaya’s philosophy holds key to good governance and welfare of mankind.” He shared glimpses from Upadhyaya’s life to illustrate his vision and philosophy.

Lecture on NEP organised

Karnal: An extension lecture on “New Education Policy (NEP) 2020” was organised by the Internal Quality Assessment Committee (IQAC) of RKSD College, Kaithal. Seema Gupta, IQAC convener, gave an introduction about the subject. College principal Sanjay Goyal said, “The Covid epidemic has brought about radical changes in the education sector. Therefore, we should be aware of the new education policy before the new session starts. This will give us a clear idea of what goals the policy-makers have set for the future and what will be the key tools to achieve them.”

Reappear exams in October

Hisar: Reappear examinations for the final-year students of university teaching departments of the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology here will be held in October. Vice-Chancellor Prof Tankeshwar Kumar said the datesheet would be issued soon by the university teaching departments and the Controller of Examinations of the university. The students may be given the option of offline or online examinations depending on the number of students and the type of examinations.

Faculty development programme

Kurukshetra: A five-day faculty development programme on “Semantic intelligence applications and perspectives” commenced online on Saturday. The Department of Computer Applications of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) here is conducting the event, which will come to an end on September 30. About 200 experts from IITs, NITs, ISRO and TCS are participating in it. The programme aims at providing research scholars, academics, researchers and practitioners with information about the role of knowledge-based systems in solving real-world problems by leveraging semantic technologies.
