Karnal: Wonder Kids playway school celebrated its annual function “Sugandh” with pomp and show. Students showcased their talent in various cultural activities. Chief guest Anju Bhatia, wife of MP Sanjay Bhatia, motivated students to work with dedication to achieve their goals. She emphasised on social and moral values and said that these values must be imparted to children in their childhood. Sumitra Kukreja, director of the school, also encouraged the students to participate in the various activities.
Varsity silver jubilee alumni meet
Sonepat: Former students of DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal, and serving in different parts of the country as well as overseas participated in the silver jubilee alumni meet on the university premises. The event was marked by organising cultural events, sharing of information and experiences and discussing job opportunities in various fields. Participating as chief guest, the university’s Vice-Chancellor Rajendra Kumar Anayath said former students are brand ambassadors of their educational institutions and guides to the juniors. Alumni association president Jasbir Singh handed over mementoes to university’s VC and Registrar RD Kaushik.
DAV students shine in debate
Yamunanagar: In an inter-state debate on the topic “Is technology changing people for their betterment?” held at DAV School, Pehowa, DAV Public School, Radaur, bagged the trophy for the consecutive third year. Thirteen other DAV Schools of Panchkula, Ambala, Panipat, Kaithal, Cheeka, Pundari etc participated in the competition. Principal Raman Kumar Sharma garlanded the students on their arrival at the school.
Health talk on gynae disorders
Faridabad: A health talk on common gynaecological disorders was organised at Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh, recently. It was attended by the women staff members of the college. The talk was delivered by Dr Divya Kumar, senior consultant, gynaecology obstetrics and IVF, QRG Health City, Faridabad. Focusing on the common gynaecological problems faced by the majority of women at various stages of their life, Dr Kumar said early detection of the problem was important.
Cultural evening at Kaithal college
Kaithal: A cultural evening was organised by the cultural, IQAC and alumni committees of RKSD College, Kaithal. Priyanka Soni, Deputy Commissioner, Kaithal, was the chief guest. In this event, students who topped the regional youth festival, Ratnavali, and inter-regional youth festival were given prizes. Among these students, 137 emerged on first place, 84 came on second position and 32 grabbed third place in various disciplines in the festivals. President Saket Mangal congratulated and blessed the students and the teachers concerned. Principal Sanjay Goyal thanked the Deputy Commissioner for the starting of the Vidyavahini bus service for girl students in the city after taking cognisance of a report prepared by RKSD College.
International symposium ends
Mahendragarh: A four-day national conference of Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI- 2019) and international symposium on “Microbial Technologies in Sustainable Development of Energy, Environment, Agriculture and Health” concluded at Central University of Haryana (CUH). Vice-Chancellor Prof RC Kuhad said that poster-making competition on various themes was organised on the last day. “Vishu Choudhary won Dr Rana Memorial Best Poster Award by making a poster on dairy and food microbiology while Sai Prasad, Ecra Marium, Ashish Singh, Rinki Gupta, Kumal Khatri, Navnidhi Chhikara and Sushmita Mukharjee were declared winners in their categories,” he added.
