Kaithal’s teacher honoured

Kaithal: Dr Vijay Chawla, Hindi lecturer working in Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Keorak, was honoured by the Education Minister Chhattisgarh State Government, Premsai Singh Tekam, and others for the presentation and exhibition of digital e-book Khel Pitara in a new education conference named ‘Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh’ organised by the Chhattisgarh government on Children Day at Pt Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium, Raipur, which was inaugurated by the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. About 50 teachers, researchers, and educationists from 27 states and 2 union territories of India as well as other countries participated. Chawla told everyone in his presentation that language-teaching should be done to children in the classroom based on their learning achievement, which is emerging as an emerging trend of language-teaching nowadays.

New training facilities in medical varsity

Karnal: New training facilities have been started at College of Physiotherapy at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay University of Health Sciences, Kutail. Bachelor of physiotherapy course under University of Health Sciences Kutail which started from academic year 2018-2019, and was running from KCGMC Karnal has recently been shifted to its location at UHS, Kutail. The newly established training laboratory containing physiotherapy equipment like MWD, TENS, IFT, ultrasonic therapy, laser, traction (lumbar and cervical) was inaugurated and dedicated to the students by Director KCGMC, Dr Jagdish Dureja who is also the controlling officer of the University. In near future OPD services related to these new equipment are also planned to be started which will benefit a large population in the adjoining villages. The principal of College of physiotherapy, Dr Santosh Munde expressed his gratitude to the Director KCGMC, and DMER, Panchkula, Haryana for making available the training equipment and wished the students lively training experience.

Programme held at Dental College

Yamunanagar: The Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology of JN Kapoor DAV (C) Dental College, Yamunanagar in association with Indian Medical Association (IMA) organised an event for celebrating the occasion of world diabetes week in the college premises at Chestha auditorium. Civil Surgeon, Yamunanagar Dr Vijay Kumar Dahiya was the chief guest of the programme. Principal of the college, Dr IK Pandit said that the purpose of the event was to spread awareness about the association of diabetes with pyorrhea and sensitise the medical colleagues as to how they should prepare themselves in making the correct diagnosis at an early stage.

Professor Khatkar named in the world’s top 2% of scientists list

Hisar: Dr. BS Khatkar, professor of Food Technology at the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, has been named in the world’s top 2% of scientists list released by the Stanford University. The global list was prepared by a team of experts led by Professor John Ioannidis, the eminent Professor at Stanford University and published by Elsevier BV. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub- fields. Career-long data are updated to end-of-2020. The selection is based on the top 100,000 by c-score or a percentile rank of 2 per cent or above. Stanford University recognized 25 Indian scientists who excelled in research in the field of food science, which also includes Prof. Khatkar.

Campus placement drive at KVA DAV College

Karnal: Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the KVA DAV College for Women, Karnal organised a campus placement drive under the guidance of honorable Principal, Mrs. Renu Mehta, with the collaboration of Vrinda Global Pvt. Ltd., Karnal. Sarvjeet Midha, operation head of Vrinda Global visited college with his team members. Santosh Bisla, Vice Principal and Sanjana Raheja, convener of cell welcomed the esteemed guests and congratulated the team for organizing the event. Around 100 final year students of various streams (BCA, B.Sc., BBA, B.Com.) participated in the drive. The placement process comprised of three rounds-written test, group discussion and personal interview. 27 students got selected for training.
