Eid celebrations marred by clash in Nuh, five injured
A violent clash broke out between two groups in Tirwada village of Nuh district on Monday, leaving at least five people injured. The incident occurred after Eid prayers, and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. A video of the altercation has since gone viral on social media.
Police from multiple stations intervened to control the situation, which stemmed from an old rivalry. Authorities have deployed additional forces in the village to maintain peace.
According to police reports, the clash erupted around 9.00 am when one group was returning home after offering Namaz at the Idgah. An argument broke out with members of the opposing group, escalating into a violent confrontation involving sticks. Police teams arrived promptly, dispersing the crowd and ensuring the injured received medical attention.
Bharat Singh, SHO of Punhana city police station, said, “We reached the spot immediately after receiving information about the clash. The injured from both sides were taken to the hospital. Further action will be handled by Bichhor police station.”
The police revealed that the clash involved the rival groups of Rashid and Sajid in Tirwada village, with past enmity being the root cause. Previous cases have been filed against both parties.
A Nuh police spokesperson said, “In the ongoing feud, Rashid’s group members Meeru and Hafiz, and Sajid’s group members Khurshid, Ashmin, and Noor Mohammad were injured. Others sustained minor injuries. The situation is now under control, and an FIR will be filed after further investigation.”
