Gurugram: Elderly woman throws acid on puppy, booked

Gurugram, February 21

An elderly woman allegedly threw acid on a puppy in the Bhim Nagar area. An animal activist reached the spot and informed the police after she got information about the incident.

According to the complaint filed by Rajiv Nagar resident Suman Mishra, she got information that some puppies were being tortured by Anisa, a woman from the Bhim Nagar area around 4 pm on February 20. “She threw acid on a puppy. Besides, she was allegedly throwing boiling water on cattle roaming in the area,” she mentioned in her complaint.

Following her complaint, an FIR was registered against the woman under Section 428 (killing or maiming animal) of the IPC and Section 11 of the Animal Cruelty Act at the city police station on Tuesday.

“We are investigating the matter and action will be taken as per the law,” said Sub-Inspector Bahiram, the investigating officer.
