Ellenabad, panchayat polls deliberately delayed: Hooda

Chandigarh, September 6
Former Chief Minister (CM) and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has criticised state government “for deliberately delaying the Ellenabad bye-election and panchayat polls”.
“The government knows that people are disillusioned with it. There is anger in every section, including farmers, against the policies of the alliance,” he said.
Answering questions of mediapersons, Hooda termed the mahapanchayat, held at Muzaffarnagar, as peaceful and successful and said that it had once again proved the farmers of the country were against the new agricultural laws.
“The farmers have reiterated that they want the guarantee of MSP and, hence, the government should resume talks which have been stalled for seven months,” he said.
Hooda said the state government had proved to be the biggest anti-farmer one in the country as it had repeatedly used brutal force against them in Karnal, Hisar, Rohtak, Pipli and other places.
