Faridabad police arrest shooter in firing at YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s house
The Faridabad police arrested a shooter in connection with the firing at YouTuber and Big Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav’s house in Gurugram after a brief encounter near Faridpur village in the early hours of today. The accused was shot in the leg and admitted to a hospital. The police team is searching for the other accused.
According to the police, the arrested accused is identified as Ishant Gandhi (19), a resident of Jawahar Colony, Faridabad. He was arrested by the joint team of Crime Branch, Sector 30, and Crime Branch, Central, Faridabad, around 4.30 am today after a brief encounter when he was riding his bike.
On a tip-off, the police team put up a barricade on Sector 77, Neemka Road from Faridpur. When the police signalled a person riding a motorcycle without a number plate to stop, he tried to escape by turning the motorcycle back quickly. After this, the motorcycle fell, and he started running on foot and opened fire on the police team.
A senior police officer said that the accused fired four consecutive shots at the police team. In retaliation, the crime branch team fired two shots toward the accused’s legs, and the accused was injured by one bullet in his leg and fell on the road. Afterward, the police arrested the accused and rushed him to the hospital for treatment. The police have also taken his bike into custody.
“The accused, Ishant Gandhi, was one of the shooters in the firing at YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s house in Gurugram on August 17. A country-made pistol has been seized from his possession. He is admitted to the hospital, and we will interrogate him after he is discharged. A further probe is underway,” said Mukesh Kumar, DCP, Crime, Faridabad.
It may be noted that on August 17 at 5.30 am, 24 rounds of firing took place at Elvish’s house in Sector 57, Gurugram. Bullets hit the doors, windows, and ceiling of the house while Elvish was not at home. CCTV footage revealed Ishant firing. Since then, the police have been looking for the people who fired.
The Bhau gang claimed responsibility for the attack outside the house of YouTuber Elvish Yadav in Sector 57 while accusing him of promoting a betting app. A few days ago, a case of firing on famous singer Rahul Fazilpuria was also reported. The police were looking into both cases together because Rahul Fazilpuria and Elvish Yadav had also released an album, which generated controversy.
