Empowering youth with job opportunities, says CM Saini

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today said the state was moving rapidly toward the goal of empowering its youth with self-respect through employment opportunities.

Flagging off the “Namo Yuva Run” at the Dronacharya Stadium in Kurukshetra, the CM said, “Initiatives like Make in India, Vocal for Local, Digital India, Startup India and Skill India are propelling the nation to new heights. True development comes only when all sectors and citizens work together. Skill development and youth empowerment remain at the core of this progress.”

He urged the youth to give equal importance to skill development as well as health and fitness, and to work collectively for the vision of “Developed India – Developed Haryana.”

So far, 1.80 lakh youth had been provided government jobs, said Saini.

“Today, new horizons of opportunity are opening up. The government is working tirelessly to support the youth in realising their aspirations,” he said.

The CM highlighted achievements of the state in skill development, sports, startups, overseas employment opportunities and action against drug menace. He urged the youth to play an active role in politics so that modern and progressive leadership can emerge, bringing an end to dynasty and nepotism driven politics.

Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal said that the primary objective of the “Namo Yuva Run” was to spread awareness among the youth about the importance of sports and to discourage drug addiction.

He said the Sansad Khel Mahotsav was also being organised in Kurukshetra with the goal of setting a new national record by ensuring the participation of 2 lakh people.

Principal Secretary of the Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department, Rajiv Ranjan, said around 15,000 youths in Kurukshetra and 13,000 youngsters in Gurugram had registered for the “Namo Yuva Run”.
